Audit Chamber sees Russians’ real income flat or falling in 2019

MOSCOW, May 29 (PRIME) -- Russians’ real disposable income may remain flat or even decrease in 2019, the Audit Chamber’s head Alexei Kudrin told reporters on Wednesday.

“The first quarter demonstrated negative figures. Nobody forecasted that so sure, the figure for the entire year, which planned at 1% of a real disposable income rise, can be near zero or even negative. Sure, this risk may arise,” Kudrin said.

He added that the rate of economic growth, which is the basis for real income increase, is unstable.

“I hope, this year we will avoid technical recession but nevertheless, the figures will be low,” Kudrin said, adding that he expects a lower than 1% rise of the gross domestic product (GDP) in 2019.
